Gardening glories are beautifully blooming

Members of Little Common Horticultural Society are now deciding which blooms or vegetables need special care to peak on Saturday August 9 for the club’s 69th summer show.

Spring rains delayed planting this year but once plants ‘got going’ they romped away according to spokesman Eric Fasey who said: “We are now going through a very hot and dry period so it will be interesting to see how our local gardeners have coped with the conditions. Visitors will be able to enjoy a visual and fragrant treat and homemade refreshments throughout the afternoon. An opportunity also to purchase good quality plants grown by our members.”

The show is at Little Common Community Centre from 2pm. Entry £1, (children free). Trophies will be presented by the Mayor at 4pm. Details on www,lchs.co.uk
