THE St Michael’s Hospice Riding Club achieved thousands of pounds for the charity last year.
Set up seven years ago, in 2013 the club raised £6,500 for the hospice, which provides care and support to people with life limiting illnesses in the Hastings and Rother area.
Anna Clayton and Elizabeth Cloutt started the club with the aid of Mr Jan Auer, at Normanhurst Estate in Battle.
With the loss of riding club activity in the area, the pair decided to create a club which raised funds solely for a local charity.
Amanda Hildreth, community fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “The club works incredibly hard for the hospice, and we would just like to say a very big thank you to them.”
The club, which has activities to suit all ages and levels of riding, holds its largest event, the annual horse and dog in September and this year will be taking place on Sunday, September 7, at Horns Corner, Catsfield.
