Police are appealing to anyone who saw two men carrying holdalls in the Westville Road area of Bexhill last Saturday (August 11) following a burglary.
The owners of a property in Westville Road returned to the house at 7pm two days later (August 13), after a few days away, to find it had been broken into. Items stolen included a laptop, camera, TV and games consoles.
The house was burgled between 10am last Saturday and when the family returned on the Tuesday.
Witnesses saw two men opposite the house between 7pm and 7.30pm on the Saturday with a large holdall each and they walked into Cranston Avenue towards Downlands Avenue and Cranbrooke Road junction.
Detective Constable Dominic Witham said: “One of these men we would like to speak to was walking with crutches and both were wearing the holdalls on their backs like rucksacks.
“Anyone who saw these men or saw anything else suspicious in the area is asked to please get in touch with police on 101 quoting serial 1420 of 13/8. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Sussex Police launched Operation Magpie to tackle burglary across the county.
