Revel in the colour and grace of Christchurch’s flower festival this weekend which has its gladrags on to celebrate the dazzling theme of dance.
The event at the church in Springfield Road will include 14 displays varying from Scottish Country to Hula Hula. The centre piece in the communion area will be a large display to reflect the words of the Shaker hymn by Sydney Carter ‘The Lord of the Dance’.
There will be stalls for cakes, plants, books, ‘Bric a Brac’ and competitions to enjoy.
Ploughman’s Lunches on Saturday and Monday (Festival open 10am – 4.30pm) and cream teas on all three days. Sunday open 2pm – 4.30pm and with services at 10.30am and 6pm that will reflect the theme of ‘An invitation to the dance’.
While viewing the displays there will be a selection of live music at different times including the organ, guitar, clavinova and even the harp.
This year the festival is raising funds in support of the Beachy Head Chaplaincy, East Sussex Disability Association as well as ongoing Church Projects.
