Bexhill Lions open evening at The Studio, De La Warr Pavilion, was aimed at attracting new members and many local residents turned up to find out more.

Bexhill Lion President June Hough said an encouraging number of people, with a wide range of backgrounds and interests, attended the event, adding: “We want to share the great things we’re doing in the community and let others know how they can help by becoming a member. People of all ages and backgrounds are always welcome, all we ask is that they give their time when they can, are interested in making new friends ,helping others and having some fun”.

Comments from prospective new members included: “I have seen the Lions collecting at Christmas but had no idea as to the range of their fundraising activities, including a casino night, very impressive!”.. “Very friendly and welcoming..well presented material showed just how many groups, charities and individuals they help in Bexhill.”

Membership Director George Coleman said the team did a great job in setting up the event. “I am really pleased with the enthusiasm and interest shown by those who attended. I’m sure we will be welcoming a number of these into the Club over the next couple of months.”For information on joining the Lions call 0845 833 9591 email: bexhill-lions@gmail.com visit www.bexhill-lions.org
