Bexhill MP Greg Barker, enjoyed stunning views and tranquil countryside when he joined Rother District Councillor Frank Rallings for a walk through Combe Valley Countryside Park.
Combe Valley Countryside Park is a joint project between Rother District Council, Hastings Borough Council and East Sussex County Council to create a significant green space between Hastings, Bexhill and Crowhurst, an area of approximately 600 hectares (1,480 acres). Plans include developing the restored landfill site and adjoining land for recreational purposes.
The park contains the Combe Haven Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and the Filsham Reedbed Local Nature Reserve - managed by Sussex Wildlife Trust.
Greg said people will be pleasantly surprised to find that a short walk from Bexhill can take you into beautiful East Sussex countryside with are outstanding views, adding: “It is still early days in the development of the park but already there are plenty of interesting walks to enjoy and a programme of family activities taking place throughout the year. This is great news for local residents in Pebsham but also for all residents in Bexhill who can enjoy a vibrant countryside park on their doorstep for generations to come.”
