Glenleigh Park primary academy has announced it has a new executive headteacher.
Paul Reilly has taken on the role vacated by one of Bexhill’s best known principals, Pat Strickson, who retired at the end of the summer term, having overseen the transformation from Sidley primary school and move from Buxton Drive to Gunters Lane.
Paul was previously the head teacher of Rye Community Primary School.
He has worked in East Sussex for over 20 years and is “excited” about working for Glenleigh Park and Aurora Academies Trust which runs the academy along with partner school King Offa, and Oakwood and Heron Park Academies in Eastbourne.
His main priorities are to continue raising standards at the new academy and to ensure that Glenleigh Park is the school of choice, both for parents and families in the town but also for staff who want to make a difference to children’s life chances and education.
As well as being at school in stunning grounds children will be encouraged to become “Ambassadors for Life”, being the best representatives of their school, town and communities now and in the future.
