Hooe musician Nick Belcher has honed his skills with local bands playing in Bexhill, Hastings and Eastbourne, but has just brought out his debut CD.
It’s called Shadows and contains 13 of his original songs played by top professionals and recorded at Quiet Money Studios in Hastings.
Nick’s band includes Bexhill-raised Terry Pack who was at St Richards college before he left to join the successful 70’s prog Rock Band The Enid. His career has seen recording sessions with everyone from Samantha Fox to Joss Stone and is frequently seen gigging locally. The vocalist Jan Ponsford lived for many years in Hastings and many locals will remember her gigs as well as her busy and popular vocal workshops. Top Drummer Winston Clifford has appeared several times in Hastings especially at the Jazz Club held by Jazz Hastings at the East Hastings and St Leonards Angling club, notably with South African Pianist Beki Mseleku. Pianist Frances Knight from Canterbury, has also been a popular visiting artist. Local Musicians James McMillan (Trumpet) and Rob Leake (Saxophones) also guest on the album.
Shadows is available now at Music’s Not Dead in Devonshire Road but will soon be listed on Amazon (ref SKU HF-W6D7-WJSW) and available from itunes from 11/01/2014.
