There will be music, talks, and poetry to mark Older People’s Day during September and October.
The national event is designed to celebrate the contribution and achievement of older people and in East Sussex this year’s theme is ‘joining in’.
Supported by East Sussex County Council. and with an events programme booklet available from libraries or for download from www.eastsussex.gov.uk/olderpeoplesday, many events have been organised by the county’s network of Seniors’ Forums as well as community groups and local organisations.
In Bexhill people can enjoy music at Ardath residential care home and an afternoon at Bexhill Library organised by Rother Seniors’ Forum with poetry workshops, computer know-how sessions and presentation on the history of Bexhill.
The booklet includes details and contacts for people to book places, where necessary, and how to get there.
