WHITE Rock panto star Ben Watson will be welcomed to Bexhill High tomorrow when he opens the Academy’s busy festive fair.

He appears for the first time in Dick Whittington tonight, playing Simple Simon, and shares the stage with Sheila Reid from sitcom Benidorm, Tommy Jones, and Mark Pearce.

The pantomime will run until Saturday January 4.

Simple Simon will perform the opening ceremony at 10am at the Academy in Gunters Lane, and a large turnout is expected.

This is a return trip to the area by the actor who was a popular Smee in last year’s Peter Pan also at the White Rock.

Organiser Adam Hepkin said: “We are delighted that Ben is making the short journey from Hastings to be with us.

“It’s an incredibly busy time for all panto stars so we are very lucky that Ben will be coming to Bexhill High. We are really pleased.”

The fair takes place between 10am-2pnm, and Father Christmas will be in his Grotto handing out presents to the children, ably assisted by his elves.

There will be a host of stalls, including ‘Sweet Delights’, ‘Candy Co’, ‘Die Speis’, Bexhill High Table Tennis Academy, ‘Jinkx’, ‘Forever Living Products’, Demelza Children’s Hospice.

Also there will be Health Trainers, 1st Bexhill Brownies, Cycle Training & Child Pedestrian + Wheels2Work, ‘Elaine & Sarah’s Gifts’, Cozy Candles & Cuddlies, costume jewellery, FairTrade, cake stands, SASBAH, and art.

There will be musical entertainment throughout the day, and food and drink will be available.

Admission is £1 for adults and 50p for children. Everyone is welcome.
