RESIDENTS in Rother are encouraged to check collection days before leaving rubbish out over the festive period.
Household waste and recycling collections over the Christmas and New Year period will be on a revised schedule as follows: December 23 and 24 will be unaffected. Collections due December 25 will be made on December 27; December 26 will now be on December 28; December 27 will be on December 30; December 30 will be December 31; December 31 will be on January 2; January 1 will be on January 3; January 2 will be on January 4; January 3 will be on January 6. Waste collections January 6-10 will be made a day later.
There will be no garden waste collections over Christmas and New Year, but restart on January 7. Rubbish and recycling collections return to normal on January 13. Christmas trees can be left at Rother recycling points January 6-12, or put in green wheelie bins - maximum thickness of wood allowed is 10cm. Some charities offer a tree collection service. Christmas cards - without glitter, plastic or foil - can be recycled in the green box or blue recycling bag or at recycling points. www.rother.gov.uk.
