On Sunday 11th May the congregation of the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sidley, Bexhill, celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Bishop Kieran Conry of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton was invited to concelebrate the 10am Mass with parish priest Fr. David Parmiter, and prayers were said for the whole community; with thanks given to God for all those who had been involved in the building-up of this particular part of St. Mary Magdalene’s parish, especially the Crowhurst family, whose father Tom had created the wonderful wooden altar in the Church. Afterwards, Bishop Kieran planted a flowering cherry tree at the front of the building, in memory of the joyous occasion. He then joined parishioners in a very crowded church Hall, where a splendid buffet and celebration cake helped everyone enjoy the party. On behalf of everyone, Mary Carroll thanked the bishop for attending and raised a glass to a happy future for the church community.
