Fair trade cake made by Mary Carroll at St Mary Magdalene church

Fairtrade Fortnight has been “hectic” in Bexhill with young and old getting together to promote ethical trading of bananas and rice.

Apart from painting the town with “a banana yellow glow” the campaign has seen master baker Mary Carroll creating a fairtrade cake for St Mary Magdalene’s parish celebration to tantalise taste buds but satisfy hearts.
