New Bexhill map which will help residents who have mobility problems

People with mobility issues will benefit from from a new map of Bexhill which shows all of the town’s accessible routes.

The map, produced by Hastings & Rother Disability Forum (HRDF), shows accessible crossing points and disabled parking in the town.

Designed for visitors who use a wheelchair or mobility scooter, the map even shows accessible cash points in the town.

A spokesperson for the HRDF said: “The committee representatives were pleased to explore Bexhill Town and work with Rother District Council to produce the most accessible routes for people with wheelchairs and mobility scooters.”

The map is available online, from the town hall or from Bexhill Library.

“For most of us, getting around town and finding somewhere to park is relatively easy,” said Cllr Jonathan Johnson, Rother District Council’s portfolio holder for equalities. “But for some visitors and residents something as simple as withdrawing money from an ATM can be an impossible task.

“We are delighted that HRDF took the time and effort to produce this map and hope that it makes life a little easier for disabled people to visit and enjoy Bexhill.”
