One-off show from star bringing comedy home

Eddie Izzard returns to Bexhill this week for an impromptu performance of his internationally acclaimed latest comedy tour.

Tickets are on sale now after last-minute talks between Eddie and the De La Warr Pavilion arranged for the spontaenous gig to take place on the terrace this Thursday (August 7), starting at 8.45pm.

The unusual setting means audiences can expect a hit of both comedy and natural beauty, as Eddie’s backdrop will be the sun setting over the colonnade domes. Though this being Britain, audiences should bring waterproof clothing.

Eddie has toured Force Majeure across the world in three different languages, and now brings it to the town he grew up in. DLWP spokesman Sally Ann Lycett said the pavilion was, “thrilled to welcome back our patron Eddie Izzard.”

Some tickets are reserved for under-18s at £10. Adults can pay £30 for a spot on the balcony or rooftop, or £20 for the ground on the south terrace. Early birds on the £20 seats might grab one of a few deckchairs available - otherwise bring your own blankets and cushions. Tickets from the box office on 01424 229111, or visit Doors open at 6.30pm.
