Operation Dragonfly on target with drink drivers

A Bexhill driver has been charged with drink-driving after being stopped as part of Sussex Police’s summer crackdown.

A total of 13 drivers so far this month have been ordered to appear in court as part of Operation Dragonfly.

This is the force’s current initiative to tackle drink and drug-driving across the county.

Simon Lambourne, 33, was arrested after a car went through a red light in Holliers Hill, Bexhill, shortly before 1am on Thursday June 5.

Lambourne, of Havelock Road, Bexhill, was charged with drink-driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

He was released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 23 July.
