Tapa tapas is due to open on 13th February in what was formerly The Forum, despite opening on the 13th their grand opening will be on the 18th February from 5pm. The menu is going to consist of fusion style tapas which sounds fantastic. The first glimpses of their style and how the restaurant is going to look can be seen on their Facebook page.

Driftwood on Sackville road will also be opening on 23rd Feb, it markets itself as a charming boutique hotel and restaurant beside the sea. They offer wonderful food in a relaxed and informal restaurant, led by a dynamic Austrian chef, Michael Roessl, using the finest locally sourced ingredients. The Driftwood’s modern Austrian fusion menu has something for everyone. Other than that, they are remaining pretty tight lipped about what we can expect from it, however keep an eye on their website www.thedriftwoodbexhill.co.uk which will be launched soon for all updates. The man responsible for driftwood has already had great success with Hastings house in St. Leonards which is another boutique hotel and epitomises seaside sophistication.

The Waterfront is also relaunching itself under new ownership and management. It will continue to be a private members club serving freshly cooked food, however the new owners are hoping to revamp and modernise the venue and make it a more thriving place to enjoy lunch or an evening out with live music becoming a regular occurrence.

Finally it’s very exciting that Wetherspoons are planning to finally open in August this year. Our office is situated opposite the old cinema which is set to become the new Wetherspoons and we can report that it is increasingly becoming a hive of activity. It will be great to see it open in the summer and hopefully it will provide another pull for visitors.

All in all very exciting times for Bexhill and it’s residents!
