Here’s hoping the sun will shine tomorrow on Egerton Park where there will be a family fun day as well as EDGYFEST 2014.
And if the forecast is sizzling so is the outlook - Friends of Egerton Park have joined the annual event with their Party In The Park and entrance is free.
Visitors of all ages will find much to enjoy and there will be good times all the way from 12-4pm leading up to the main event.
FOEP Organiser Marcia Linden said: “For your delight and enjoyment The Bexhill Lions will be serving their mouth watering barbecue items, Russ ‘Some old git’ and Mark Diamond will provide music and entertainment throughout the day, Michael Ensor has organised a variety of games; there will be a selection of stalls, refreshments, raffle, children’s tombola – everyone a winner.
Plus free cake and drink for all new FOEP members, so please visit us in the marquee situated near the barbecue.”
EDGYFEST 2014 will be both tomorrow and Sunday and has become an annual major event for Bexhill.
All the churches in Bexhill have joined together to celebrate the Pentecost Festival and everyone is looking forward to “a whole load of fun and games” during the afternoon with the live band and stalls around the lawn, and a highlight of an Its A Knock-Out competition.
This will see teams of six test themselves against the clock in challenging tasks, some of which may cause them to get “rather wet.”
Organiser Michael Ensor has been assembling trials such as The Cannon Run and the Race Car on Rollers.
Saturday evening will see a concert in the Grand Marquee from 7-9pm.
EDGYFEST has become a showcase for local talent and this year is no exception - The Wacky Band and a local youth acoustic band will be performing live.
Michael said: “Because of the generous donations by the churches and other friends, all the events will be free of charge. Even the evening concert will be no charge for entrance. This is a change from previous announcements, and is because the churches want to be a blessing to the town on this special weekend.
Sunday events will be mainly in the Grand Marquee, with the Living Word church holding an open event from 10am. This will be followed by a United Churches Together service of Pentecost Celebration at 3pm when people from the different Christian churches will be joining with the celebration together. This will be concluded with sharing a huge Birthday Cake. Now we just pray that the weather will be kind to us all!”
