St Peter’s Church, Bexhill, welcomes back organist Peter Dutton, who will give a recital at the church on Saturday July 12, 7pm.
Peter Dutton’s distinguished career began as a chorister at Magdalen College, Oxford. He was organ scholar of Trinity College, Oxford, and gained organ scholarships at All Saints’ Margaret Street and Birmingham Cathedral. Between 2005-2009 he was Director of Music at St. Peter’s Church. He holds diplomas from the Royal College of Organists in both organ playing and choral direction. He gained an MMus degree in church music at Canterbury Christ Church University and became Organist of Christ’s Hospital school Horsham. In 2010 Peter started his own sacred music group, ‘The Gibbons Consort’. He continues to support the choristers at St Peter’s Church, fund raising and playing the organ when they sing services in Cathedrals.
Entry to the event at St Peter’s on Saturday is free with a retiring collection.
