Your gorgeous pooches will have their moment in the sun this weekend.

Demelza Hospice Care for Children is organising a dotty dog walk along the promenade this Sunday (May 1).

The event kicks off at 11am at the Metropole Lawn, west of the De La Warr Pavilion, when dogs are invited to come along and register for the three mile walk to Galley Hill and back.

Entry is just £5 per dog and, if paid in advance of the day, will include a free bandana and Andrex toy.

The walk will commence at 12pm and once everyone is back there will be a fun Dog Show at the Lawns with a choice of ten different classes to enter.

Entries will be taken on the day at £2 per dog, per class.

There will be lots to do on the day including fun stalls and a chance to ‘make and take’ with ‘Kids Craft Kits’.

Harry, the winning pooch from the Observer’s recent photo competition, will also be there to welcome everyone.

The event has kindly been sponsored by Whatlington Garage so all proceeds will be used to provide hospice care to children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses.

To pre-register your dog for the walk then just call Julie Brett, Community Fundraiser at Demelza, on 07917 603075.

She commented: “I’m thrilled with the response that we’ve received for this event. We’re expecting a good turn out as owners have flocked to register their dogs for our walk. It’s turned out to be a real crowd pleaser!”
