Hardworking Army Cadets from Bexhill Detachment were honoured by the Royal British Legion at their annual awards night.
Bexhill Army Cadets raised over £700 during the poppy appeal, and The Royal British Legion (RBL) present certificates to cadets who dedicate their free time to raise funds.
Group Captain Derek North, chairman of the RBL Sussex, said he was pleased and proud to present certificates to cadets who have shown such commitment to others, adding: “The RBL exists to provide essential welfare to the Armed Forces and their families and without the money raised by cadets we would not be able to provide this support. I thank the cadets for their efforts during the 2013 Poppy Appeal, and to the parents and adult volunteers who support them.”
Katy Stewart who leads Bexhill’s Army Cadets thanked the youngsters for their hard work. “The motto of the Army Cadet Force is ‘Inspire to Achieve’, and we have seen evidence of real achievement in the young people of Bexhill.”
