Pub-goers raise thousands for heroes

Generous locals at a Bexhill pub have raised a welcome £3,169.36 for the Help For Heroes charity.

Regulars at The Royal Sovereign have been busy holding auctions, raffles and a host of other fundraisers in a bid to make as much money as possible for the charity which helps injured ex-servicemen.

Licence holder Francine Stretten was joined by some of her locals when she handed a cheque over to a representative of the charity earlier this week outside her pub.

She said: “My customers have been doing some really great work for the charity Help For Heroes –they even roped my son into shaving off his long hair.

“I would also like to thank all the local business for their donations in to the last raffle we held. “We will continue to raise money for Help For Heroes and various other charities.”
