Schools across Bexhill have joined together to stage a recruitment fair tomorrow (Saturday March 15) to attract teachers to the town.
This is a novel approach by Bexhill Education Alliance to luring new staff to our local schools in an attempt to boost the standards of education across Bexhill.
Schools taking part are:
All Saints C of E Primary, Bexhill College, Bexhill High, Chantry Community Primary School, Glenleigh Park Primary Academy, King Offa Primary Academy, Little Common Primary School, Pebsham Primary Academy, St Mary’s Special School & 6th Form College, St Peter & St Paul C of E Primary, and St Richards Catholic College.
The fair is taking place at Bexhill High from 10am to 2pm and the message is clear - come and find out about the attractions and benefits of teaching in Bexhill.
These include: - the glorious location, the high standard of living, professional support and career development, salary incentive, and the chance to make a difference.
Andy Mortimer, Interim Principal at Bexhill High, said it is great that the town’s schools are working so closely together.
“It is no secret that attracting top quality teachers is sometimes very difficult, and we are keen to do something about this,
“Many teachers are prepared to travel to work so we have to get the message across that here in Bexhill we are serious about recruiting the very best.
“We have outstanding teachers living locally but there may also be some happy to come to Bexhill from further away - Ashford, for example, is only one hour on the train.
“Much of the success of a school depends on the quality of teaching and learning - and that is why we are holding this fair.
“It really is an open door to any teacher interested in working in this great town Bexhill.’
