The Rotary Club of Senlac handed over cheques totalling over £20,000 to four local charities at its annual presentation evening held at Highwoods Golf Club, Bexhill, on August 19.
The money, which had been raised at the club’s Father’s Day Classic Car Show, held at Bodiam in June, was shared among four local charities; Hastings and Rother Parkinsons Support Group, the Hastings Sea Cadets and the Yellow Men of Kadongdong - a Senlac Rotary supported Charity that works with a village in North East Kenya.
Also receiving a substantial donation was the Children’s Respite Trust, based in East Hoathly.
Gavin Fisher, the Trust’s Chief Executive was presented with a cheque by Rotarian Dave Miles, who was the organiser of this year’s Classic Car Show.
Thanking the club for their donation, Gavin spoke briefly about the work undertaken by the Trust and the work they do helping the carers of sick and disabled children.
