Bexhill resident Ruth Jones still enjoys a walk on Galley Hill despite being partially sighted and recently having celebrated her 102nd birthday.
Ruth, who was born on July 25, 1913, is a resident of Arden House residential home in Cantelupe Road, where she has lived for the last five years.
Angela Hastings, from Arden House, said: “Ruth is a very sprightly lady. Although she is partially blind she walks to Galley hill and back most days.
“She loves her sport and enjoys watching most sports on her television.
“Up to a few years ago she loved playing bowls at Egerton Park. Ruth goes to her blind club once a week and also loves going out on shopping trips.”
Ruth enjoyed a party at the home last Friday with friends and residents and also her friends from sister home, Abbey house in Albert Road, Bexhill.
She had a private family party on Saturday with her family. Ruth has a daughter in Australia who was unable to attend.
