Scuba crew explore deep waters

Divers travelled to Belgium recently to hone their scuba skills in one of the world’s deepest pools.

Members of Rother Diving Club donned wetsuits to explore Nemo 33 - a 113-foot deep indoor swimming pool including several underwater caves at around ten metres.

Club chairman Chris Lee said: “The weekend was a great success, with many of our trainee divers experienced diving at depth for the first time.”

Brian Terry, of Bell Hill, who went on the trip with the club, sent in these pictures showing members finning around the pool.

Founded in 1992, Rother Diving Club trains and operates under the rules and guidance of the Sub Aqua Association. The club meets each Monday, and provides training for novice divers at the Battle Abbey Pool in Bexhill. Training is in small groups and at a pace that is right for individuals.
