Little Common School PTA held a “sensational” summer fair with the sun shining down and the school field filled with children, staff, families, former pupils, residents and visitors.
Nicola Jack reports: “Body Shock started the performances in the arena with circuit training for parents and children, and then organised a closely fought tug-of-war.
Dance House gave a wonderful dance show and the baby ballet brought lots of ‘ahhhhs’ from the audience.
Next up were Head teacher, Mrs Appleby, Deputy Head, Mr Paramor and Year 6 teacher Mr Duckett in the stocks. What great sports they were to have wet sponges thrown at them and the queue of children went on and on.
Lacey’s Theatre Arts and Sama Karate both kept the audience enthralled with children from the school showing off their talents, and the school choir sang beautifully and with great enthusiasm in the main hall.
Throughout the day all the stalls were busy, with queues at the bar and barbecue never ceasing and happy, excited children enjoying the wide variety of sideshows including the inflatable gladiators, coconut shy, smashing crockery, tractor rides, face painting and much much more.
The PTA would like to thank the parents and school staff who helped on the day, along with The Property Café, John O’Connor, Boss Scaffolding, TL Sports Events, Halfords, Harvey’s of Lewes and all the many local businesses who made donations or sponsored a stall and helped to make the day such a fantastic success.
By the time the field was cleared and the money counters had finished their mammoth task, just over £6,500 had been raised. Some of this money is already allocated for the purchase of new tables and chairs for the Year 5 classrooms.
What a resounding success!”
