Short Fuse story night seeks Hastings writers

Stunning storytellers and rousing raconteurs are needed for the next Short Fuse live fiction night.

The Brighton institution started up a night in Hastings last summer and the events have gone from strength to strength.

The next one takes place on February 28 and there are still spots left for writers to go along and read their work, which can be on any theme, but must be under 2,500 words long.

Louise Hume, Short Fuse's creative assistant, said: "Since starting our live short story nights in the Hastings area last May we have explored themes such as 'Tainted Love', 'The Uncanny' and 'Another Country'.

"We decided this month to leave the theme open to writers' imaginations. We are expecting the weird, wonderful, and everything in between. It will be a night of surprises."

Stories should be sent before February 20 to shortfusestories@yahoo.co.uk.

The night is at The Jenny Lind on February 28 from the earlier time of 7pm, and tickets cost 5 on the door.
