Firefighters were called to a number of dangerous structures in 1066 country as Storm Katie caused chaos yesterday (Monday, March 28).

One East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliance from The Ridge, Hastings, was mobilised to St Marys Road, Hastings at around 8.10am.

Masonry had fallen on to the road and the damaged portion of the building was causing a safety risk.

Crews made the area safe and requested building control.

Then one fire engine from Bexhill made dangerous scaffolding on London Road, Bexhill safe at about 10.25am.

And, at around 12.50pm, two appliances from Hastings removed a dangerous sign from a property on Queens Road, Hastings, using the aerial ladder platform.
