St. Richard’s Catholic College held its annual PTFA Summer Fayre in glorious sunshine last Saturday.

Pupils and their families, staff, past pupils and members of the local community came along to the key fund raising event.

Charlotte Chong, from the school, said: “As always, pupils and their families had been generous and supportive in ensuring that there was a range of quality products and prizes on offer for stalls, tombolas and raffles.

“Pupils were involved in helping and running activities alongside members of the college’s PTFA, staff and families.

“There was a great community atmosphere in the July sunshine with everyone enjoying the opportunity socialise and make the most of the wide range of activities on offer.

“Popular attractions this year included a three range bungee run’ and Sumo wrestling. Live entertainment included performances by singers and musicians from St. Richard’s.

“People also enjoyed the opportunity to take part in some outdoor fitness sessions led by Maria Dove’s Fit Club.

“Approximately £5,000 was raised at the fayre. This fantastic amount will enable the PTFA to buy extra items which will benefit pupils in departments and in extra-curricular activities as well as other extras chosen by pupils on the School Council.”

Miss Cronin, principal at St. Richard’s, said: “Sincere thanks go to the PTFA for organising our fayre and to all those who attended and gave so generously. It was a well-supported family event with everyone enjoying the opportunity to socialise and making the most of the range of stalls on offer.”
