A fundraiser for St Michael’s Hospice will be held at Collington House this weekend.
Collington House, in Collington Rise, is having an open day to the public on Saturday May 24 from 2-5pm.
Visitors will be treated to afternoon tea and delicious cakes, and the event will include a bric-a-brac stall, games in the garden (weather permitting) and raffles.
Resident Gordon Hamilton, who lives in one of the 20 retirement flats at Collington House, said: “All the money raised will go to St. Michael’s Hospice.
“Many of us support the hospice but this is our first attempt at a Big Tea.
“My wife died there seven years ago, and through the sorrow, the people who work and help out there are very special in every way. The comfort and support we received helped us get through it.
“They deserve all the help and financial support possible.”
