The winners of this year’s Carnival Court have just been announced and the 2014 Carnival Queen is 17 year old Kimberly Hitchens.

Kimberley attends Bexhill College and enjoys music, cinema and socialising. The Carnival Princess is 16 year old Alisha Bradley-Chester who attends Bexhill High School.

This year’s Junior Princesses are six year old Natalie Deddon, seven year old Lily May Jenner and ten year old Stacie May Swatridge.

Each year, young girls apply to be part of the Bexhill Carnival - one of the UK’s longest running carnivals and this year was no exception with over 50 entries for the judges to consider.

The Carnival Committee would like to thank officials from Hastings Carnival for being on the judges’ panel, alongside Carnival Court sponsors and local businesses – D C Mercer, Muscat & McEwan and Bexhill Florist.

Tracy Aston, Carnival Committee: ‘We would like to thank all the entrants who took part in this year selection event.

“It is always difficult deciding on an overall winner, but I am sure the girls will do Bexhill proud at all the events they will be attending over the coming months.’ The 2014 Bexhill Carnival will be held from Saturday July 19th to Saturday July 26th with the theme of “Story Books & Nursery Rhymes”. The ladies of the Carnival Court will lead the ultimate event of the week – the Carnival procession on Saturday July 26th.
