A local am dram company has announced that their next production will go on despite storm damage to the stage at Little Common community centre.

The Little Common & Bexhill Players (LCB) production of the comedy ‘A Clean Sweep’ faced being axed when heavy storms tore off a section of the roof at The Shepherd’s Theatre, Little Common Community Hall, severely damaging the stage where the Players’ perform their productions.

However, LCB Players spokesperson Lyn Ford said the production will now go ahead on May 16 & 17, adding: “It is estimated that the stage area will not be usable until at least the end of June. So platforms will be built in front of the damaged stage, on which the play will take place, also mobile lighting is to be used.

“The Director Elisabeth Doust and Stage Manager Graham Payne are working very hard to make sure audiences will still be able to enjoy the production.”

‘A Clean Sweep’ is set in H&H department store where things seem a little topsy-turvy. With indecisive customers and gossiping staff. Will you ever here the words ‘Are you being served?’ Tickets £8, under 16’s £4. 01424 222801.
