The Twenty Ten Club

With all the gloom and doom about at the moment it was a real treat to have Mel Rees along to visit us again. The talk this time was entitled “It Never Gets Any Better” and it it was good to have a laugh - he really is comical and manages to find the funny side of almost everything in life. He has written several books and he brought some for us to buy if we wanted to read more about his experiences.

Ros said that several of us had just returned from a very enjoyable club holiday in Warner’s Sinah Warren Hotel on Hayling Island ( even the weather was kind to us) and we managed to fit in visits to the Royal Armouries Museum, go up the Spinnaker Tower, shop at Gun Wharf Quays and spend a day in Winchester. We all came back ready for a rest!

Heather gave details of the planned lunch at Di Paolo’s in January, payment for which will have to be paid at the December meeting.

Details were also given about the 7 day holiday to Taunton next August staying at the Holiday Inn and will include an excursion on each day of our stay. Names and deposits will be required at our January meeting.

We are now all looking forward to our Christmas lunch and party on December 17th. It is most important that members do NOT arrive at the hall before 1.00pm to allow time for those helping to set up all the tables and lay out the food.
