Training on the job for 100’s of youngsters

HUNDREDS of youngsters will get be able to train on the job thanks to the success of an apprenticeship campaign.

East Sussex County Council launched You’re Hired East Sussex in March with the aim of creating 500 new apprenticeships - and so far 457 employyes have signed up.

Businesses can receive a £1,500 grant from the National Apprentice Service for each youngster they take on, up to a maximum of five - for details call 08000 150 600. Businesses interested in hiring an apprentice or finding out more about the benefits, can visit www.eastsussex.gov.uk/hired or call the National Apprenticeship Service on 0800 015 0600 or visit www.apprenticeships.gov.uk.
