Two local lads to star in Peter Pan pantomime

TWO local lads successfully auditioned to join the cast in this year’s swashbuckling pantomime Peter Pan at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings.

Thomas Gater from Bexhill and Thomas Matthews from Battle will both share the role of John Darling.

They will appear alongside TV and stage star Paul Nicholas who takes the part of the villainous Captain Hook, when Hastings Pantomime Peter Pan opens next month.

Thomas Gater started acting at the age of seven when he joined a local theatre group. This led to several TV appearances.

His northern accent proved to be help when he appeared in the BBC hit series Not Going Out alongside Bobby Ball.

Thomas Matthews has appeared in many local shows and has most recently appeared in the Hastleons production of Oliver.

Thomas is keeping up the family tradition of appearing on stage in pantomime.

Last year his sister was one of the Seven Dwarfs and when Peter Pan was last produced at the White Rock Theatre his older brother Ben played the role of Michael.

Both boys are very much looking forward to working with the cast, and very excited to begin rehearsals.

Paul Nicholas became a household TV name in the 1980s, playing Vince in the popular BBC sitcom Just Good Friends. He was the first British actor to play Danny in Grease and took a starring role in the original cast of Cats.

Peter Pan opens on Saturday, December 8 and runs until December 30.

Tickets cost from £13 and are available at whiterocktheatre.org.uk or by calling 01424 462288.
