UPDATE: Bexhill Aldi shut due to electrical fault

Aldi in Bexhill has been closed by an electrical fault this morning (Thursday, August 20).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to London Road at around 8.15am to reports of smoke in a plant room.

An electrical fault was found to have caused the smoke but no action was needed by firefighters.

The supermarket will reopen tomorrow.

An Aldi spokesman said: “Following an incident this morning, our Bexhill store is currently closed for repair work. The safety of shoppers is our number one priority and we expect the store to reopen tomorrow (21st August).

“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.”
