Police have launched an appeal today (Friday, November 6) for information following a sexual assault on a woman as she was walking to work in Bexhill.

The 21-year-old was walking in Amherst Road between 11.20am and 11.25am on Sunday, October 26 when she heard steps behind her and someone squeeze her bottom.

As she turned around, someone was running away.

Detective constable Damien Cotgreave said: “The suspect was only seen from behind but is believed to be a man and was wearing a grey tracksuit. He ran towards Belle Hill. This assault was extremely brazen and in broad daylight.

“Anyone with information or saw what happened is asked to contact police on 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 616 of 25/10.”
