Regulation for cooks is nonsense

Is there no end to the regulatory nonsense the authorities can dream up?

I have never written to your newspaper before but felt on this occasion I had to put pen to paper.

Nice of people to stop and help

Hastings Runners club members can be seen treading the pavements around Hastings most days usually without incident.

Recycling all goes down same chute

We should all try to recycle, so for some time we separated green, clear and brown bottles into their appropriate bins, provided by the council.

Don’t blame bird for people’s mess

Living in a coastal area I expect to see seagulls and other seabirds overhead – and I cannot help but marvel at these last survivors of the dinosaurs.

Strange to see no cuts to expenses

Well done to the BBC for sending cameras inside the NHS, showing how hardworking medical staff are trying to cope with gross underfunding and cuts in social care. Does Jeremy Hunt see the time for spin is long gone?

Satisfying to see goal achieved

When the Bexhill Observer ran the article of me wanting to publish the Bible as five paperbacks, I had already been promoting the idea for some years to publishers and church groups.

Export and not import is the key

Would anyone be kind enough, through your paper, to advise me on what the ‘single market’ actually means? Everyone talks about it, but neither I or my peers seem to know.

Ladybirds not in decline here

I read in the paper today (February 6) that ladybirds were in decline. Well not down here they were not, the blighters were everywhere, all over the windows and a right mess they made, they also managed to get in doors - how I do not know. I had to close the windows.

MPs clearly have priorities right

According to a recent press report, MPs are to hold a debate on how to deal with ‘aggressive’ seagulls in coastal towns and cities. What wonderful news. It just goes to show that our elected politicians have got their priorities right. Never mind about the homeless, or the NHS or the security of our borders. Something has to be done about the seagulls!
