I couldn’t agree more with the letter from Stuart and Diana Hughes (Bexhill Observer, February 24) regarding the traffic on the A259.
It is not just the volume, it is also the type of vehicles that are the problem. Enormous juggernauts, massive skip lorries thundering up and down a road that was not built for that kind of usage.
We back onto the A259, near The Denbigh, and some of these enormous vehicles make my house shudder as they pass and as for the noise.
I dread the summer coming as we will have to open our bedroom window and I can be sure we won’t get much sleep after 6am and I despair at the thought that things will only get worse but what is one to do? Huw Merriman MP seems to be a hard working and well meaning MP but does he really understand how this damn road is blighting our lives?
The only answer is the building of a by-pass, we all know that, but as the council seems to find it difficult to keep up with the pot hole problem I will be dead and gone before that happens.
