It is a space not a God-given right

Have your say

Through your page I would like to send my version of a windscreen note in reply to the one which was left for me by a resident of Chantry Avenue this morning (12/1/16).

Allow me to set the scene, I parked in what was the first legal and unobstructive parking space I could find along aforementioned road and made my way to my hospital appointment.

Upon my return some 20 minutes later I found a note had been placed on my car professing to understand I was there for the hospital (either they followed me or maybe they have psychic abilities) whilst asking me not to park ‘slap bang in front’ of their property or ‘at least let the people that live here park as well’.

I was blocking no driveways or garages, I drive a Smart Car for heaven’s sake which didn’t even span the width of the frontage of the property I was parked outside of, and it appears only my carbuncle of a vehicle was causing offence as it was the only one to have a note!

If the resident in question is reading this I’d like them to consider the following, I have to come to Bexhill Hospital every week whilst receiving treatment for cancer and I would have preferred to have been able to park on their doorstep rather than yours because the walk to and fro this morning just about finished me off and your little parking tantrum was the cherry on top of what is turning out to be the furthest thing from my finest moment as it’s possible to get.

In future please take a deep breath and think before you act, yes I understand it’s frustrating but please it’s only a parking space not a God-given right.
