LETTER: Money to teach refugees English

I have just heard that we are to expect thousands of Syrian refugees to the UK and Amber Rudd has pledged 10 million pounds to teach them English.

While in her own constituency and throughout East Sussex, old people and particularly people with autism and a learning difficulty are facing severe funding cuts and having their lives made miserable and causing real hardship due to East Sussex County Council, which they in turn blame on central government under-funding them.

Every social service in this country is in crisis because of under-funding yet they can find 10 million for refugees to learn English.

Can you wonder why people become anti-immigration when it is so clearly a case once more of immigrants having precedence.
