LETTER: Surely CRG will identify cost?

Rother council leader Carl Maynard defends the Conservative's rejection of a town council for Bexhill because it would cost '˜hundreds of thousands of pounds'.

How does he know this? Surely the cost implications of all the possible options, including a town council, will be one of the matters that the Community Governance Review (CRG) will identify.

Only then will an indication of the potential cost be known. We saw in the EU Referendum how those who feared change used potential cost as an argument for the status quo.

It would appear that Cllr Maynard is now engaging in the same ‘project fear’ tactics.

It didn’t work for them and it won’t work for Cllr Maynard either.
