On behalf of my fellow trustees of Bexhill Museum, I would like to thank all our volunteers and members who were responsible for making our Cream Tea such a great success, especially Emma Tickner, whose idea it was in the first place.
Of course thanks must also go to all those, including Huw Merriman MP, who attended and contributed so generously by raising £359 towards the running costs of the museum.
This letter also gives me the opportunity to thank Yvonne Frances from Stone Cross for her letter praising our children’s Puppet Workshop, one of many such events which our Education Group organise throughout the year.
Regarding our education programme, I am proud to announce that the group have, in the past four years, doubled the number of school children visiting the museum in organised parties.
Indeed, this year has also seen an all round increase in visitor numbers, confirming our role as the town’s second most popular visitor attraction. And I am also pleased to say that attendance numbers are increasing year by year for our lectures, walks and excursions.
But we are not just sitting back enjoying these successes, in fact exactly the opposite.
We have great plans for the future, which will not only enhance the status of your museum but will attract much needed business to the town.
