Plans are well underway for Rye's big food festival in October.
A Taste of Rye is a week long celebration of local produce and culinary skills which will help cement Rye's place on the national food map.
Organisers have high hopes for the popularity of the festival following the success of a two day food festival at Hastings last weekend, which attracted thousands of visitors.
A Taste of Rye runs from Friday October 3 - Sunday 12.
Events booked to date include: A Rye Bay Seafood and Wine Evening at Webbe's Restaurant, on October 3; A Rye Bay fish cookery demonstration, on October 4 and an extra special Farmer's Market with tastings, discounts and cookery demonstrations, on Wednesday 5.
Organiser Lorna Hall said: "Rye and the surrounding areas offer some of the finest, freshest and tastiest ingredients in the South East and this is a great opportunity to showcase our produce.
"Rye's top restaurants have created fabulous menus using locally sourced fish, game, meat and vegetables and paired them with some excellent local wines and ales.
"New and exciting events this year include a cookery school, a fish filleting class, the 'Ultimate Cake Buffet', Orchard-Ology and the launch of a brand new monthly Rye Produce Market.
See the website www.tasteofrye.org.uk for more details of the planned events.
There will be more details and a full programme of events in next week's Rye Observer.
