Rother residents are being asked to look out for a flat bed transit vehicle which has been seen going onto farms in the Rye and Battle area looking for scrap metal.
The vehicle, registration X144 LOE, was spotted in Northiam on Friday February 26.

There were two men in the vehicle and one of the men got slightly aggressive when told he could not have an old bath from a property in the village.

A similar warning was issued by police last week after £3,000 of scrap metal was stolen in Bodiam.

Residents are also being warned that as well as looking for scrap metal, the men may also be eyeing farms and premises where valuable machinery and tools are kept with a view to return and commit crime.

Anyone who spots the vehicle in their area should contact police on 0845 60 70 999.
