GCSE results have improved at Thomas Peacocke with 70 percent of pupils gaining five or more GCSE's
39 percent of students achieved five top A* - C grades, including English and maths - a 7 percent increase on last year.

Principal Ann Cockerham said: "We are proud of then achievements of all the young people who took examinations this year.

"Our results are 11 percent above the target that had been set for us two years ago an evidence a considerable amount of hard work on the part of the students and staff as well as considerable support and encouragement from parents.

"Results in Arts subjects and ICT were exceptionally high again this year and 27 students in Year 9 were celebrating their success in achieving a GCSE in Expressive Arts two years early.

"A quarter of Year 10 students succeeded in achieving Maths and Statistics GCSE's early.

"The college looks forward to continuing its trend of improvement next year.

Among those celebrating today was Jade Boxall, from Camber, who gained an A* grade in art and A in textiles.
