A THRILLING night of boxing is on the cards at the White Rock Theatre tonight.
West Hill Boxing Club stages its big annual show and tickets are selling fast for what should be an action-packed bill involving some of the top young amateurs from across the country.
"It's going to be a cracking show," said West Hill head coach Dave Bishop. "We haven't had a show in the town for years and to get it back at the White Rock is great."
Arguably, the star bout will be the clash of two national champions when 13-year-old Frankie Smith takes on fellow Golden Gloves winner Michael Joynson (Liverpool). "That's going to be an exciting contest because they are both really good boys," said Bishop.
One of the most intriguing contests is the meeting of women's British middleweight champion Janie Brashill (Brighton City) and two-time Swiss champion Claudia Schindler.
Also lined up on what is expected to be a busy card of some 17 bouts is the clash of West Hill welterweight Barry Buchanan who will lock horns with ex-national novices champion Eric Ochien (Haringey).
Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 with concessions. Anyone wishing to attend the event, which starts at 7.30pm, should contact the White Rock box office or the Hastings Information Centre as soon as possible.
