Bexhill and Sidley narrowly earn their weekend points

BEXHILL and Sidley both tasted victory in Division Two of the Sussex Cricket League on Saturday.

Bexhill clinched a tense one wicket win against bottom-of-the-table Pulborough in a low-scoring encounter at The Polegrove.

The visitors were dismissed for 148 in 50.2 overs with Simon Bulteel (4-33) the most successful bowler. Rohap Jagota top-scored with 35.

Richard May (41) led the reply for a Bexhill side which finally edged home against the bowling of Jodie Miller (4-30) and Jagota (4-57).

Sidley also had something to celebrate when they clinched their second victory of the campaign at Worthing.

The hosts were bowled out for 124 despite 47 from Chris Mansell and 38 from Alex Harris. Manjot Singh was the pick of the attack with superb figures of 5-20.

Sidley just about overhauled the modest target and finished the day on 125-8. Peter King compiled a valuable 30, while Kyle Bowes bagged 4-36.

Both our local teams scooped maximum 30 points to leave Bexhill fifth and Sidley seventh.
