Bexhill seek to continue fine run

In-form Bexhill will put their four-game Sussex Cricket League winning run on the line tomorrow (Saturday) when they visit a Pulborough side just one place below them in the Division Two standings.

Bexhill - who sit second behind Chichester Priory Park - are currently in the middle of a sparkling run of results with their latest success in the league being a 10-wicket demolition of bottom-of-the-table Littlehampton.

"We are playing good cricket at the moment," said Bexhill first team manager Hamish Russell, whose assessment was emphasised by the defeat of Premier Division Eastbourne in the following day's Sussex Twenty20 Cup.

In fact, the weekend was one of non-stop success because the club's 2nd XI and 4th XI also won, while the 3rd XI were without a fixture.

Sidley will be looking to build on their win over Ansty when they welcome Uckfield Anderida to Gullivers in Division Three (East).

Although back up to second in the table, they are still some distance adrift of Seaford who, even at this early stage in the season, are hot favourites to claim the one promotion place. "There are plenty of teams who can push them," said Sidley skipper Neil Priddy.

Team news and while Bexhill expect to name a full strength side, Sidley will be without Chris Hunnisett so Kevin Deeprose slots straight back in.

The seconds of Bexhill entertain Hastings Priory at The Polegrove and Sidley's 2nd XI visit Uckfield. All matches are due to get under way at 1pm.

In Division One of the East Sussex League, Battle host Iden, Crowhurst Park entertain Rottingdean and Rye go to Ringmer. All of these matches start at 1.30pm.
